Description

Agustín Barrios in Tablature – Seven of His Greatest Works Transcribed with Guitar Tablature

A carefully researched and edited collection of seven works by Agustín Barrios Mangoré, presented with guitar tablature and standard notation.

Barrios’s music survives in numerous manuscripts, printed editions, transcriptions, and recordings, often containing significant differences. This edition compares those sources with the performance practices of leading guitarists, including John Williams, Antigoni Goni, Ana Vidović, Xuefei Yang, and Denis Azabagic, with the goal of producing practical, historically informed editions for the modern guitarist.

The collection includes alternate readings where appropriate, including a transcription of Barrios’s own recorded version of the extended scale passage from Un Sueño en la Floresta.

Standard notation version included.

Contents include:

• Un Sueño en la Floresta
• Prelude in C Minor
• La Catedral
• Madrigal-Gavota
• Las Abejas
• Prelude in G Minor
• Una Limosna por el Amor de Dios
